History of Lumberjills with Alissa Wetherbee In-Person / Online
Learn about the history of Lumberjills during WWI & WWII and their impact on modern day female foresters.
Alissa Wetherbee is an IronJill, which means she chops, saws and logrolls! She has competed extensively, including winning the Peavey Log Rolling and Axe Throwing Championships and the Jill & Jill Crosscut World Championship with her teammate Andrea. Alissa is the owner and founder of Axe Women Loggers of Maine, and she and her husband Mike travel throughout North America competing and performing. A world-class competitor, promoter, and instructor of logging sports, Alissa is also involved in preserving its heritage, and is honored to serve as a member of the Board of Directors at the Maine Forest & Logging Museum in Bradley, Maine!
