Chamber Music Trio: Clare Monfredo, Edward Kass & Conrad Winslow

Chamber Music Trio: Clare Monfredo, Edward Kass & Conrad Winslow In-Person

An evening of strings and piano chamber music with DownEast New Music's artistic directors Clare Monfredo, Edward Kass, and Conrad Winslow. This program of cello, double bass, and piano chamber music includes music of the 19th-21st centuries by Beethoven, Rossini, Shostakovich, and a new piece by pianist and composer Conrad Winslow.

---

Clare Monfredo is a cellist who grew up in Seal Harbor, attended Mount Desert Elementary School, and has lived in Texas, Germany, and now Brooklyn, NY. She enjoys playing chamber music of all kinds and is finishing her doctorate at the City University of New York Graduate Center.

Praised as a “virtuosic performer of undeniable gifts” (Fanfare), Boston bassist Edward Kass performs internationally and has had recent festival appearances including Tanglewood and Huddersfield. Edward grew up in San Jose, California and he performs with soprano Nina Guo as Departure Duo, including recitals at Spoleto Festival USA and Yellow Barn.

Conrad Winslow is a composer and pianist living in Waldoboro whose musical forms are bold, legible and emotionally direct. Raised in Homer, Alaska, he first learned to make a world from scratch by watching his parents build a log cabin home in the woods. He studied composition at the Juilliard School and his work has been called “compelling” (New York Times) and described as a “scenic, boisterous and bumpy ride” (Albany Times Union).
